General Admissions Details
The Lamar County Center for Technical Education is an equal opportunity educational institution. Students are admitted and treated equally without regard to race, color, creed or national origin.

In general, students interested in entering a program at LCCTE should have a C or higher in their most recent math & English classes. Some programs have more specific requirements. Please refer to the information for each particular program for complete details.

In order to provide the safest learning environment, persistent and/or serious discipline infractions may prevent placement into a technical program.

Regular attendance is necessary to be successful in the programs at LCCTE. A student's attendance history will be reviewed prior to admission into the program.

Students with an IEP who wish to participate in a technical program must meet similar enrollment criteria as non-IEP students. A representative from LCCTE must attend the IEP meeting before a student's request to attend is evaluated.

LCCTE serves 4 schools, each program has a maximum enrollment number. Slots will be given to schools using a percentage formula based on the percentage total of district enrollment in each school. If a school does not fill their percentage of slots in a program, the counselor at LCCTE will communicate with that school's counselor before offering these slots to qualified students at other schools.
