What is Automotive Service Technology?

Automotive Service Technology is a program that prepares students for entry-level employment positions in the automotive repair and service industry or for entry into post-secondary Automotive Technology programs.

The first course in the program includes instruction in the foundation skills related to safety, tools, and equipment usage, measurement, basic automotive service, brakes and electrical system service.

Trade and Industry Certifications/Benefits to student:

The program is aligned with ASE/NATEF—2014 Automotive Program standards. The student will receive instruction and training in: Brakes, Electrical/Electronics, Engine Performance, and Steering and Suspension After completing the two year course, most students continue training at community colleges, Lincoln Tech (formerly known as NADC/Nashville Auto Diesel College), UTI (Universal Technical Institute) or WyoTech (Wyoming Technical campuses in Wyoming, Pennsylvania and Florida).   Students who choose to do so may go directly into the workforce.
