Culinary Arts is a pathway for students in the hospitality and tourism career cluster. This pathway includes classroom and hands-on experiences that prepare students for employment or additional education in the food service industry.
This program incorporates the National Restaurant Association’s (NRA’s) ProStart learning objectives. Any student successfully completing the program and the mentoring requirements of the NRA and scoring “Pass” or better on the Mississippi Career Planning and Assessment System (MS-CPAS) exam is eligible to take the National ProStart Certificate of Achievement exam. This is a national certification program recognized throughout the food service industry.
Due to the lab/kitchen component of this program, class sizes should not exceed 15 students per teacher at one time.
